Do you worry about age gaps?? How far apart in age are your children?
We only have one child right now, she's 4 years old (turned 4 in June) and I am 25 (July) hubby is 28 (August). Originally we were planning to get pregnant right now, we've been trying for about 4 months now and now luck just yet. I had a bad 3 months with cramping, pms, etc, and found out I had a couple cysts. So maybe that's delaying it, I don't know. But then I just found out I got accepted into a nursing program that starts in January '09 and it ends August '10. Now I don't know if I want to wait or not, go with the flow, or continue trying. Nursing school is very intense and time consuming, so I was leaning more towards waiting. But by then if I was to get pregnant let's say in August '10 after I graduate , then I wouldn't have a baby until the following spring. So our kids would be 7 years apart. I was hoping to have them closer together.... what are your thoughts on that kind of age gap, are your children this far apart in age, what was/is it like for you?
It seems having children about 3 years apart works for most of my friends. I personally am from a family that has children 1 year apart 6 years and then 12 years apart. The 12 years difference between my brother and I was ok. I love taking care of him and teaching him things. We a still very close even though we are adult with our won families. My sister who is 6 years apart was ok too, sometimes in my teenage years I found it annoying because she always wanted to copy everything I did and follow me around and of course and that age you want your privacy more often than not.
I believe no matter the age between children there will positives and negatives, the point being it is how you handle them and how you help your children process those times. Each person has their own individual personality so depending on the child there could be more issues or less. Yet, then again, I fully believe the parents attitude and how things are handled makes the biggest difference in a child's life.
So I encourage you to not worry so much about all this, but instead learn more about parenting skills and communication because that will be the key in the long run.

When it comes to buying baby clothes, I must admit I am hooked. When our first child was born, my husband and I were barely running round. He was humble to a supervisor ho-hum job and I worked in fast food.
