Does anybody smell an Al Qaeda trap?
We have troops tied up in Afghanistan and they set up shop in Pakistan just beyond our reach. Although I think Iraq was more about oil Al Qaeda set up shop there in short order. Now they appear to be in your face with their shop in Yemen, enough to shut down the British and American embassies. It seems to be they are baiting us to send troops to Yemen. Then there's their shop in Somalia and satellites in Nigeria and Sudan and it appears they're provoking us in those places too.
Is it possible that Al Qaeda is trying to overextend our military? Maybe we should find a better way to kill flies than with a baseball bat?
I believe that the leaders of Al Qaeda are not stupid. I think they realize that our response to anything we don't understand is to kill it with overwhelming force and incredible brutal technology. I think they realize that US Military Power is awesome but it isn't infinite. I think they believe they can wear out the Army and Marines, and we would go broke on million dollar bombs.
I believe that they should treat this organization as a highly organize group of criminals and pick them off the way our law enforcement has beat back and chip away at organized crimes. It is the way Israel does it and they are extremely successful at it.
