Black Red Basketball
The history of basketball in the United States can be attributed to a match played at the YMCA in Trenton, New Jersey, the 1896th This effect has been a dispute between members of the YMCA team and a YMCA official. The angry players formed a professional team and played for money. Two years later, a group of New Jersey newspaper sports editors founded the National Basketball League (NBL). STARS in this league were Ed Wachter and Barney Sedran.
The first two successful professional teams in the twentieth century, the Buffalo Germans and the Original Celtics, and the first major professional league in the American National Basketball League. The New York Renaissance, also known as Clean and Harlem Globetrotters are the most successful teams in the 30s. The two were also all black team. The best female players of that time was Babe Didrikson, ALLINE Banks Sprouse, and Nera White.
1940s and early 1950s As dominance Minneapolis Lakers. This led Lakers of George Mikan and coached by John Kundla, won five NBA championship titles (1949, 1950, 1952-1954). The star players of the 50s was on guard Bob Cousy and forward Bob Pettit. Cousy led Boston Celtics to six NBA titles (1957, 1959-1963).
But it was the Celtics who dominated the NBA in 1957 and 1969. During this period the team won 11 NBA titles, including 8 straight. Bill Russell was the star player for the Celtics. Another dominant center of the time was Wilt Chamberlain Philadelphia Warriors.
The period from 1963 to 1975 belonged to the University of California Los Angeles. UCLA won ten national championships, including seven in a row. Some of the greatest players on this team was UCLA Center Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, center Bill Walton, guard Gail Goodrich, Jamaal Wilkes forward, and forward Marques Johnson. Abdul-Jabbar played 20 seasons in the NBA and retired as a career League leading scorer with 38,387 points.
NBA got a rival in 1967 as the American Basketball Association (ABA). ABA has come to be known for its beautiful style and for his red, white and blue basketball. The best player in the ABA has been led and Julius Erving. ABA, erupted in 1976, and most of its teams joined the NBA.
In 1979, revived Larry Bird of Indiana State University and Magic Johnson of Michigan State University NBA fortunes. In the late 1980s, Detroit Pistons was a powerhouse with star players like Isiah Thomas and Dennis Rodman.
It is about women underwent major transformations in the 1960s. In 1966 was dribbling entirely lawful, and in 1969 the five yard Full Player format was introduced. 1990s belonged Michael Jordan. He led Chicago Bulls to six NBA Championship titles. Other large players in the 1990s was Hakeem Olajuwon, Scottie Pippen, Charles Barkley, David Robinson, Karl Malone, John Stockton, and Shaquille O'Neal. The female stars of that period was Cynthia Cooper, Sheryl Swoopes, Teresa Edwards, Lisa Leslie, and Jennifer Azzi.
