Safety for a large infant?
My daughter is a little on the large side, and I'm worried about some safety concerns. We purchased a convertible car seat for her, and she's in the rear facing position, but her legs jam up against the back. I don't mean to say that they touch the back of the seat. They did that shortly after buying the seat. What I mean is, her knees are always bent up on her chest and she's pretty uncomfortable. She's not quite 5 months old though, so I don't want to face the seat forward.
I've got a similar concern with sleeping garments. We don't have ac here, and I've been putting her in boys' rompers. Sort of like a short sleeved footie pajama. But I can't find any of these beyond the 24 month size, and I'm really stuffing her in those. Same deal with her onezies. She's still pulling her clothes up when she sleeps, so I really don't want to put her to sleep in a 2 piece that she could get over her head.
Does anyone have any suggestions for my not so little sweetheart?
Car seat problem: it's not a problem. Babies are MUCH more flexible than adults are and there has been no proof that sitting with scrunched legs in a baby does anything negative, healthwise. There have been studies done on forward vs. rear facing, and she's actually got a higher chance of breaking her leg(s) in a forward facing crash than rear facing scrunched up, not to mention the perks of not having a broken neck by being rear facing.

These ones are shorts/short sleeves and go to a 5T. You shouldn't have a problem fitting her into these.
